Revenue Accountant

Overview

Brief Description The Revenue Accountant is responsible for the accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of revenue and cash activity across Card Vault by Tom Brady’s multi-location retail and ecommerce business. This role owns daily sales validation, deposit and payment reconciliations, weekly in-store safe reimbursements, deferred revenue tracking, and revenue-related close activities. This is a hands-on execution role working closely with the accounting team to ensure revenue integrity, audit readiness, and scalability as the company grows.

• Validating and reconciling daily sales and deposits across retail locations and ecommerce channels
• Completing weekly safe reimbursements for cards purchased in-store, ensuring proper documentation, coding, and reconciliation to cash and inventory records
• Posting revenue-related journal entries, including sales, refunds, cash receipts, and sales tax liabilities
• Performing daily and monthly reconciliations for:
• Cash and bank accounts related to sales
• Payment processor clearing and settlement accounts
• Deferred revenue and gift card liabilities
• Discount and loyalty program activity and balances
• Sales tax payable and related clearing accounts
• Investigating and resolving sales, payment, deposit, sales tax and reimbursement discrepancies in coordination with store teams and accounting leadership
• Supporting month-end close for revenue-related accounts, including revenue cutoff, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with execution of ASC 606 revenue recognition in accordance with company policy
• Preparing and maintaining revenue support schedules for audits and internal review
• Partnering with FP&A to ensure revenue data flows accurately into reporting and forecasting tools
• Supporting sales tax reporting, including validation of taxable sales, preparation of support schedules, and reconciliation of sales tax payments
• Contributing to process improvements and documentation as transaction volume scales
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 3+ years of experience in retail revenue or general ledger accounting
• Experience reconciling high-volume transactions and payment processors
• Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition concepts
• Prior experience in retail, ecommerce, or multi-location environments strongly preferred
• Experience with Workday Financials or other ERP systems, POS systems, and payment processors preferred
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

• This position is located in a new office at The Hub on Causeway with scenic views of the Zakim bridge. This full-time role is office-based but does have flexibility for a hybrid schedule one to two days per week
• Job functions require hours of sitting, typing, and use of a computer
• May be required to lift or move up to 30 lbs using proper lifting techniques and work in a fast-paced, high energy environment
• Non-typical office hours may be requested
