About the RoleThe Specialty Growth Analyst will contribute differentiated investment ideas across small- and mid-cap growth strategies as part of a collaborative portfolio management team. This role involves conducting fundamental equity research, building detailed financial models, and clearly articulating investment theses to portfolio managers. The analyst will actively monitor portfolio holdings, engage with internal and external research partners, and help drive long-term investment performance through disciplined stock selection.
Aboutthe Team
The Specialty Growth Strategies (SGS) platform is a 10-member, Boston-based team within Loomis, Sayles & Company, overseeing more than $5 billion in assets across three equity strategies:
Small Cap Growth, Mid Cap Growth, and Small/Mid Cap Growth. The team employs a collaborative, bottom-up fundamental investment process, with active stock selection as the primary driver of long-term returns.
- Understanding the product – its strategy, benchmark and any portfolio constraints
- Absorbing, and “living” the team’s investment philosophy and process
- Generating, analyzing and contributing stock ideas to the portfolio in a high-volume environment that requires intelligent decisions to be made quickly
- Communicating investment theses to the portfolio managers clearly and with conviction, then working with the portfolio managers to determine portfolio fit.
- Keeping an analyst’s watchful eye on portfolio holdings – staying abreast of external and internal developments that may influence stock performance
- Developing relationships with sell-side research providers and independent industry resources
