Fund Accountant – Omega Capital (Full-Time, Onsite/Hybrid Depending on Office Policy)
Omega Capital is seeking a highly motivated Fund Accountant to support the financial operations of our investment funds. This role is ideal for an analytical, detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, transaction‑driven environment and enjoys working with complex investment structures. The Fund Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining accurate books and records, supporting investor reporting, and ensuring timely and accurate fund financials.
About the Role
As a Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting processes across multiple investment vehicles. You will interact closely with internal investment teams, administrators, and external auditors. This position requires strong technical accounting skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a commitment to accuracy and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger for assigned funds, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
- Track and reconcile daily cash activity across investment partnerships.
- Prepare monthly NAV packages including valuations, accruals, and capital activity.
- Prepare capital calls, distributions, and investor capital account statements.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements and accompanying footnotes.
- Monitor fund expenses and ensure proper allocation in accordance with fund agreements.
- Assist in the calculation of performance fees, waterfalls, and carried interest.
- Review financial statements from underlying investments and perform variance and trend analysis.
- Coordinate with external auditors during year‑end audits to meet all deliverables.
- Support ad‑hoc reporting requests, internal analysis, and process improvements as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- 1–3+ years of experience in fund accounting, public accounting, or investment accounting preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and investment fund structures.
- High proficiency in Excel; experience with fund accounting systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working with cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and reconcile discrepancies effectively.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time position; schedule may be hybrid or onsite depending on Omega Capital’s office requirements.
