Job Title: Collections Specialist
Location (city, state): Remote
Compensation: $35-$40 hourly
Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
Job Description- Lead focused collections effort targeting $20M+ in 365+ DSO aged receivables
- Pull and review invoices for significantly aged accounts
- Locate and analyze contracts and service agreements
- Confirm billing terms and validate pricing accuracy
- Review complete payment history
- Reconcile complex account balances
- Identify disputes versus valid receivables
- Gather, validate, and organize all supporting documentation
- Prepare detailed account summaries for escalated accounts
- Document account history and prior internal collection efforts
- Confirm internal collection attempts have been exhausted
- Present accounts to the Collections Manager for approval
- Determine accounts appropriate for external collections agency placement
- Coordinate with external collections agencies as needed
- Prepare write-off documentation where applicable
- Support document destruction authorizations
- Manage storage release processes for delinquent accounts
- Prepare and track legal notices
- Coordinate asset disposal activities tied to unpaid accounts
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and legal teams
- Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready
