Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid, 3 days wk in office)
Responsible for investment valuations, fund accounting, reporting, NAV calculations, and partner income allocations for eleven partnerships.
- Own valuation, accounting, and reporting for a broad mix of investment types including equities, credit instruments, private assets, and structured vehicles
- Participate in the private investment valuation process: gather inputs from fund managers, valuation consultants, and third-party sources; review appraisal and market data; evaluate audited financials for risk areas
- Analyze portfolio performance, prepare GAAP financials, and research accounting treatments
- Maintain internal records and reconcile against fund administrator data; review legal agreements and investment documentation to inform accounting and reporting treatment
- Analyze large data sets to support internal reporting, external investor communications, and regulatory filings
- Research technical accounting guidance to determine appropriate GAAP treatment for assigned investments; assist with fund financial statement preparation and annual audit process
- Support private valuations using market comps, appraisals, and third-party inputs
- Coordinate with tax, legal, and operations teams to ensure alignment across U.S. GAAP, tax, and where applicable foreign accounting standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across reporting and operations, including automation, system enhancements, and process optimization
- Partner with internal teams to support special projects, including CFO reporting and cross-functional analysis requests
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics
- 5-8 years’ experience in investment accounting, valuation, or audit
- Experience with complex portfolios and fund structures preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, tax treatment, and valuation methods
- CPA or CIA preferredus
