Finance Manager | Venture Capital Firm (Hybrid 3x/week – Cambridge, MA)

Job Title: Finance Manager – Venture Capital– CPA Preferred
Location: Cambridge, MA (Hybrid: In‑Office Monday–Wednesday)
Compensation: Competitive Base + Bonus

About the Role

A leading global venture capital firm with several billion dollars under management and a diversified portfolio across healthcare and technology is seeking a Finance Manager to join its growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting or finance professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and wants to contribute to a world‑class investment platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee fund accounting activities and quarterly financial reporting
  • Review fund general ledgers, journal entries, and capital account statements
  • Prepare capital calls, fund distribution models, and GP capital schedules
  • Participate in quarterly valuation processes, including drafting valuation memos
  • Assist in performance reporting and analysis across funds
  • Coordinate billing of fund expenses and settlement of receivables
  • Support annual audits, custody reconciliations, and ad‑hoc financial analyses
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
  • 5–6 years of accounting or audit experience, ideally within venture capital or private equity
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and ASC 820 fair‑value principles
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical ability
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
  • Self‑starter who thrives in a dynamic, deadline‑driven environment
