Consumer Loan Underwriter
$65K–$75K + Incentives | South Boston, MA (Onsite)
Seeking a detail-oriented Consumer Loan Underwriter to evaluate and decide consumer and home equity loans in a fast-paced credit union environment. Strong bonus potential tied to closed loans.
Responsibilities- Underwrite consumer loans and home equity loans/lines
- Analyze credit, income, and financial documents
- Assess risk and make approval/denial recommendations
- Ensure compliance with TRID, HMDA, Reg B, and Fair Lending
- Communicate decisions with internal teams and members
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
- 3+ years underwriting consumer and/or home equity loans
- Credit union or banking experience required
- Strong credit analysis and risk assessment skills
- Knowledge of lending regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- NMLS preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Strong bonus/incentive plan per closed loan
- Excellent benefits package
- Potential hybrid schedule after training
