POSITION

The individual will join Bain Capital, LP in Boston as part of an established Payroll team. This position will be responsible for entering and processing payroll for over 1,000 U.S. employees, both exempt and non‑exempt.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process multi‑state bi‑weekly payrolls using ADP.
  • Communicate with ADP on any payroll issues.
  • Prepare manual off‑cycle payments.
  • Enter general ledger entries and reconcile payroll journal entries in Workday.
  • Manage miscellaneous payroll items, including fringe benefits and deductions.
  • Maintain employee 401(k) election records.
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements.
  • Respond to employee payroll related questions and issues.
  • Assist with payroll and corporate annual audits.
  • Assist with payroll related projects for HR and finance teams.
  • Perform ad‑hoc tasks as required.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3–5 years of payroll experience.
  • Experience with ADP, preferably Work Force Now.
  • Experience with Workday.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Ability to operate in a complex, fast‑paced, multi‑business unit environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to interact with outside parties and personnel across all levels of the firm.
  • A forward‑thinking, organized individual.
  • A team player who is eager to learn and work with others in a dynamic environment.
  • A self‑motivated individual able to take initiative.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work under deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on high quality output.
  • Capacity to discretely handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
REQUIRED EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance or Accounting.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Expected annual base salary: $70,000 – $80,000. Base salary will be determined by a range of factors including role, function, level, experience, qualifications and geographic location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on individual impact, team and firm performance.
