Director, Tax Compliance

Job Overview

Harbour Vest is seeking a Director in the Tax Compliance function with primary responsibility for management company tax compliance. The role will oversee key management company tax compliance processes, including income tax provisions and ASC 740 review, US federal/state and non‑US filings, and global tax initiatives such as OECD Pillar Two, Country‑by‑country reporting, and transfer pricing. The position reports to the Vice President, Management Company Tax and will be a hybrid role with 18 remote workdays per quarter.

• Oversee outsourced global tax compliance for Harbour Vest’s management company entities, including US and non‑US filings.
• Lead income tax provision and ASC-740 processes, reviewing calculations and financial statement disclosures.
• Lead Country‑by‑Country Reporting compliance and align with transfer‑pricing documentation.
• Own and manage the day‑to‑day OECD Pillar Two compliance process, including registrations, filings, and regulatory review.
• Monitor US and international tax law developments and assess implications for the management company and owners.
• Provide technical leadership on complex tax challenges and manage external advisors.
• Partner with Corporate Finance, Tax Structuring, and other teams to integrate tax considerations into business decisions.
• Oversee outsourced annual tax reporting for assigned fund entities, ensuring timely and accurate filings (Schedules K-1, PFIC).
• Support tax compliance for new fund launches in coordination with Tax Structuring.

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with CPA or EA required; MST/MT strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of tax compliance experience, including management company and private equity funds.
• Experience leading ASC‑740 and tax provision processes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of tax structures, reporting requirements, and complex partnership allocations for private equity funds and management companies.
• Experience overseeing multi‑jurisdictional tax compliance outsourced to external service providers.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills and quick learning of firm‑specific systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative trust‑partner approach, and excellent analytical judgment.

• Base Salary Range: $170,000 – $190,000 USD.
