About the Role
We are seeking a Lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support R
einsurance Controllership as part of a large-scale finance transformation initiative within the insurance industry. This role will play a critical part in testing, process design, and change management for reinsurance accounting operations during the SAP S/4
HANA transformation project.
The ideal candidate will have deep technical accounting expertise, strong understanding of GAAP and statutory requirements, and experience in leading testing and process readiness activities for reinsurance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to test and support business process design for reinsurance accounting functions.
- Define and validate accounting treatments and settlements in alignment with GAAP and statutory guidelines.
- Collaborate with Reinsurance Operations, Project Management, and Technology teams to ensure accurate system integration and data flow
. - Support business readiness through documentation, training, and adoption of new tools and processes.
- Act as a key liaison between operational teams and project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
- Identify process improvements and recommend changes to strengthen reinsurance accounting controls and efficiency.
- 8+ years of accounting, controllership, or finance experience
, with a strong focus on reinsurance accounting
. - Insurance industry experience required
; life insurance reinsurance experience strongly preferred. - Solid technical knowledge of US GAAP and statutory reporting requirements for reinsurance processes.
- Hands-on experience with SAP FICO (finance/accounting modules) highly preferred.
- Exposure to SAP R/3 or ECC migrations to S/4
HANA is a plus. - Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
