Senior Accountant

Vaco by Highspring has partnered with a firm in Boston and they are looking to hire a Senior Accountant to their team. Responsibilities Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other required disclosures. Draft and review financial statements, footnotes,, earnings releases, and supporting schedules. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate required disclosures.

Research and document technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, leases, inventory, stock-based compensation, and other retail-specific accounting areas. Assist with implementation of new accounting standards and SEC rule changes. Support external audit processes and manage deliverables for quarterly reviews and annual audits. Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting (SOX compliance). Participate in special projects, including system implementations, M&A integrations, and process improvements.

Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the reporting function. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred). 4–7+ years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or public company SEC reporting. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.

Experience with financial reporting tools Retail, consumer products, or multi-location business experience preferred. Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
