As the Senior Accountant, you sit at the heart of the finance function and are responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial accounting for which effective cross‑functional partnering is a must.
This role will play a critical role in month‑end close, GL integrity, and audit readiness. Furthermore, as the company has only recently migrated to a new ERP system (SAP) there is a lot of opportunity to further standardize and improve internal processes. The most important monthly process this role will own is the Fixed Assets (Intangible), which requires a lot of alignment with internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Fixed (Intangible) Assets:
- Own and maintain the tracking, capitalization, and amortization of developed software costs, per ASC 350-40
- Collaborate with various departments to receive the most accurate and up-to-date information
- Support the monthly, quarterly and year‑end close processes to ensure accurate results are delivered and reported in a timely manner in accordance with US GAAP
- Prepare journal entries (accruals, prepaids, capex, etc.), bank reconciliations and oversee general ledger management
- Review coding of expenses to ensure proper allocation between teams
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable:
- Manage the entire AP process in SAP, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices
- Create and send out cross‑charge invoices, ensure accurate and timely billing to clients and customers
- Reconciliation of AR and AP balances
Tax and Audits:
- Support bi‑annual J‑SOX audits and schedule requests of auditors
- Support annual tax requests from tax consultants
- Ensure audit readiness throughout the year
- Prepare and file 1099s
Ensure Regulatory Compliance and Process Improvements:
- Maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and integrity of financials
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to help drive key initiatives & process improvements
- Focus on standardizing ways of working within the finance team
- Support the finance team with ad‑hoc projects and tasks as required.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fields
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in Accounting with 2+ years of Fixed Asset Accounting (specifically Intangibles) experience
- SAP or similar ERP experience
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work with large volumes of transactional data
- High attention to detail with the ability to keep the big picture in mind
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong US GAAP knowledge and understanding of SOX requirements
