The Finance Manager for the Special Situations strategy will support portfolio management and investor service needs for Bain Capital complex investment vehicles. The role encompasses monthly returns and NAV reviews, quarterly financial statement reviews, year-end audit coordination, deal monitoring, and asset class analysis. The position also involves assisting with fundraising activities and responding to ad hoc requests from senior investment professionals.
The role requires broad financial expertise spanning fund-of-funds structures, derivatives, and diverse alternative investment vehicles. The Finance Manager will interpret complex legal documents, maintain rigorous analytical standards across multiple concurrent investment mandates, and communicate effectively across all organizational levels within a demanding investment environment.
Candidates should bring 6-10 years of experience at an Investment Advisor or public accounting firm. Advanced Excel proficiency is required, with VBA, Power
BI, Alteryx, or Python experience strongly recommended. Strong verbal and written communication, detail orientation, and team-oriented ownership mentality are essential. CPA, CFA, or equivalent certification is preferred. A four-year degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. The base salary ranges from $125,000 to $145,000 annually.
