Your RoleThe Project Finance & Consulting Senior Associate will support the Project Finance & Consulting group. This group provides cutting‑edge tax credit and project finance due diligence, financial modeling, and other services to real‑estate developers and institutional investors. You will broaden your skills, work across industry groups, and collaborate with team members at all levels.
Responsibilities- Generate comprehensive due‑diligence reports that assist clients in making informed investment decisions on affordable housing opportunities, including Low‑Income Housing Tax Credit projects.
- Review and analyze financial projections, underwriting assumptions, and deal structure relative to industry standards.
- Assess the strengths and weaknesses of counter parties, reviewing partnership agreements, loan agreements, assignments, and regulatory documentation.
- Evaluate organization capacity and performance through internal policies, corporate reports, and business plans.
- Analyze financial statements, highlight key trends, and assess performance of multifamily real‑estate portfolios against industry benchmarks.
- Support ad‑hoc consulting engagements, including the production of industry research reports.
- Develop financial models for real‑estate transactions, incorporating federal and state tax incentives such as the Low‑Income Housing Tax Credit and Historic Tax Credit.
- Help clients optimize financial benefits and feasibility of projects, modeling economic and tax components and tracking project operations.
- Support transactional and consulting services as needed.
- 3+ years of financial modeling, analysis, and real‑estate experience.
- BS/BA in accounting, finance, economics, or related field.
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear deliverables.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop narrative and summary reports.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Self‑motivated with strong prioritization and multitasking skills.
- Experience with the affordable‑housing tax‑credit industry, real‑estate underwriting, or partnership tax concepts is a plus.
In Massachusetts, the salary range is $90,000 to $120,000, dependent on skills, experience, and location. Compensation may include discretionary performance bonus and a comprehensive total‑rewards package.
