In this highly visible role
, you'll work at the intersection of tax, investments, accounting, and business strategy, helping guide critical tax compliance, planning, reporting, and research activities that support the company's investment portfolio and long-term growth.
- Investment Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Lead investment tax liability calculations, provisions, and reporting activities
- Manage federal income tax compliance for investment portfolios, including tax returns, K-1 reporting, accounting methods, and new investment analysis
- Ensure accurate, timely, and consistent investment tax reporting and analytics
- Maintain and strengthen tax controls and governance processes
- Tax Planning & Strategic Initiatives
- Identify and communicate tax planning opportunities that enhance business value
- Research and analyze domestic and international investment tax matters
- Evaluate alternative investment structures and provide tax guidance on new transactions
- Advise leadership on tax implications of investment decisions and business initiatives
- Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Streamline and optimize investment tax data, reporting, and compliance processes
- Partner closely with Investment Accounting, Finance, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality reporting and insights
- Coordinate with external advisors, auditors, and tax specialists
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and scale
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field
- 8–20 years of experience in investment tax, corporate tax, public accounting, or a related area
- Strong experience with investment tax liability calculations, tax provisions, and reporting
- Deep understanding of federal income tax compliance for investments, including tax returns, K-1s, and accounting methods
- Experience conducting technical tax research and interpreting complex tax regulations
- Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Background in financial services, insurance, asset management, private equity, or investment-focused organizations
- Knowledge of domestic and international investment tax considerations
- Track record of identifying tax planning opportunities and process improvements
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a collaborative environment
