Financial Analyst, Risk Manager/Analyst
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Investment Research team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role will be based in Chicago or Boston. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
We will count on you to:- Proactively lead interviews with portfolio management teams and business leaders
- Gather and analyze information in order to identify and communicate asset managers that Mercer believes are most likely able to generate value for clients
- Provide insights and advice to clients and consultants on a wide variety of equity investment strategies (e.g., US & Non-US) equity investment strategies, including how the products can enhance a client’s existing plan
- Present Mercer’s views on how to build effective exposures to equity structures, including how specific managers can enhance a client’s return/risk profile as well as how best to achieve this result through the selection of individual equity strategies
- Extend Mercer’s thought leadership in the industry by presenting Mercer’s views at internal and external conferences
- Where applicable, provide mentoring and support to the broader equity research team
- Contribute to post meeting discussions covering key issues and recommended manager ratings
- Provide ad hoc support to consultants in preparing for internal and external research meetings
- Assist in the preparation for direct client discussions on managers/strategies
- BA/BS degree in finance, economics, or other business-related areas having strong quantitative and analytical analysis
- 5-10 years of fund research/manager due diligence experience
- Intellectual curiosity, tenacity and willingness to take on new opportunities
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities and work in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- MBA and/or CFA
- General knowledge of Environmental Social Governance (ESG) investing

Marsh is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office‑based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $104,400 to $208,800. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
