Wealth Strategist/Client Development Sales Executive OverviewAs a Wealth Strategist, you will serve as a key business development sales professional, cultivating new and existing relationships with individuals, families, non‑profit institutions and other entities. You will oversee new client development, solutions‑sales strategy, and the execution of our goals‑driven approach to wealth management planning. You will also manage the transition of ongoing client contact to the appropriate teams within Northern Trust and act as a local brand ambassador in the community.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Develop and implement a business‑development strategy and approach for targeted new client base, demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit and motivation to close new business.
- Work with ultra‑high net worth (UHNW) individuals, families and businesses to cultivate new investment‑management relationships and promote our goals‑driven wealth‑management approach.
- Take a long‑term consultative approach with clients (and attorneys) on estate‑planning services, wealth‑transfer and tax‑planning strategies, and maintain regular check‑ins as client needs evolve.
- Build internal and external personal and professional networks to identify new client relationships, and showcase Northern Trust’s full range of services to community members, clients and professional advisors.
- Seek opportunities and connections within communities, networks and philanthropic organizations.
- Collaborate with a full team of experts to support prospect needs and showcase how Northern Trust can help clients achieve their goals.
- 10+ years of sales and relationship‑management experience, preferably in wealth management clients.
- Strong network of Centers of Influence (COIs) for UHNW individuals and families, including attorneys, estate‑planning professionals and CPAs.
- In‑depth knowledge of fiduciary capabilities and services (trusts, wills, investment management, custody, financial consulting, estate and tax planning) and fee structures.
- Ability to profile a client’s financial landscape and determine the best blend of solutions across Northern Trust’s capabilities.
- Series 7 and 63 licenses required; additional designations such as CFP, CFTA, CFA or CIMA strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and sales skills to connect client asset situations with Northern Trust’s specific capabilities and services.
- Excellent communication skills to understand and respond to client needs.
- Team‑oriented mindset and a willingness to collaborate across Northern Trust.
$137,400 – 240,400 USD
