Financial Manager, Finance Assistant
Finance Administrator
Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance and Operations, the Finance Administrator manages day‑to‑day financial operations including budget monitoring, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role prepares financial reports, forecasts, and budget proposals while ensuring compliance with university policies. It serves as the primary liaison between the department and central finance, managing contracts, funding allocations, and responding to financial inquiries from faculty, staff, and students.
The Administrator also provides training and guidance on financial processes and identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency through best practices.
- Manage daily financial operations, including budgeting, reconciliations, and record maintenance.
- Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and budget proposals.
- Ensure departmental compliance with university policies and procedures.
- Serve as the primary liaison to central finance for contracts, funding allocations, and financial inquiries.
- Provide training and guidance on financial processes to faculty, staff, and students.
- Identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency and implement best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3–5 years of financial experience, preferably in higher education or a non‑profit environment.
- Experience with data management and analysis software (Excel, Tableau, Smart Sheets); experience with Workday Finance is beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills with personnel at all university levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities; flexible, team‑oriented, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
