Position: Senior Associate, Central Reporting

Key Responsibilities

The senior associate will be an integral part of the team responsible for creating process efficiencies and ensuring data integrity across the Capital Markets business at Bain Capital. They will:

  • Develop and maintain automated solutions to address client, internal, and regulatory reporting needs, largely utilizing Alteryx, Python, and Power‑BI.
  • Design, build, and maintain automated data workflows using Alteryx to streamline recurring reporting and reduce manual effort.
  • Provide internal consulting support across the business by diagnosing problems, structuring analyses, and recommending solutions that drive measurable impact.
  • Interact with Investor Relations, Finance, Operations, and Portfolio Managers to understand reporting/data aggregation needs when developing customized solutions.
  • Develop an expert understanding of the internal systems utilized for data entry and storage, as well as the flow of information through internal systems.
  • Engage in manual cleansing of historical data and formulation of new guidelines to enhance data accuracy for future entries.
  • Create visualizations for complex data models in PowerBI with the goal of simplifying understanding and reducing manual efforts for end users.
  • Address ad‑hoc problem‑solving needs, develop creative solutions, and own end user testing and implementation.
General Qualifications
  • 2‑4+ years of full‑time experience in data analytics within a finance or accounting setting, preferably at an investment firm.
  • Proficient in PowerBI development, including semantic model relationships, database queries (preferably Snowflake), writing measures in DAX, and advanced visualization techniques.
  • A foundational understanding of credit funds and portfolio management.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and excellent organizational skills; ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects with diligent attention to detail.
  • Self‑starter with initiative; ability to work unsupervised.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with capacity to interact with outside parties and personnel across all levels of the firm.
  • Collaborate daily with team members to brainstorm approaches, challenge assumptions, and improve deliverables through shared iteration.
  • Strong ability to think outside the box to develop solutions to frequent/challenging/unique ad‑hoc requests to deliver the desired information, often starting from a blank slate.
Desired Background / Education

A bachelor’s degree in data analytics, accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. Strong analytical background utilizing PowerBI to summarize large datasets. Proficient writing code in Python, DAX, and SQL. A keen interest in technology and its application in finance, with the capacity to propose and implement process improvements. CPA or equivalent qualification a plus. Work toward or an interest in pursuing a CFA charter a plus.

Compensation

Expected Annual Base Salary $100,000 – $120,000. Actual base salary will be determined by a range of factors including role, function, level, experience, qualifications and geographic location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team and firm performance.
