Private Equity Associate About the Role
The Associate will join a Boston-based private equity firm focused on small and mid‑size businesses in the digital infrastructure and technology services sectors
. The firm has invested over $2.4 billion in 240+ companies in its 35+ year history, and is actively deploying capital out of an oversubscribed Fund IX ($314.2M). Their strategy is straightforward: invest in promising founder‑owned companies within dynamic industries. They approach opportunities with a "build it" mindset, applying creative structuring and empowering strong leaders to accelerate growth and build long‑term value.
- Financial analysis – screen and analyze potential platform and add‑on investment opportunities, build financial models, and manage due diligence.
- Deal execution – hands‑on management of the full deal lifecycle from screening through market research, due diligence, Investment Committee memo creation, execution, close, and post‑close value creation.
- Portfolio management – monitor portfolio company performance and support strategic value‑creation initiatives.
- Third‑party diligence – facilitate due‑diligence activities with third‑party partners (e.g., senior lenders, accountants, attorneys, IT consultants, strategy consultants).
- Superior analytical and financial modeling skills, including comfort with LBO, DCF, and returns analysis.
- 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree and a track record of strong academic performance.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a lean, fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and rigorous attention to detail.
- Exposure to digital infrastructure and/or tech‑enabled services is preferred.
