Job Description SummaryThe Business Risk Management (BRM) group, part of the Global Investment Research team, hires an Operational Due Diligence Analyst to conduct business and operational risk reviews of long‑only and alternative investment managers. The analyst will focus on key areas such as operations, compliance, valuation, fund accounting, counter party‑risk management, technology, and other support functions, with a primary mandate to mitigate financial loss and reputational risk.
Job Responsibilities- Support the BRM team with initial and ongoing operational due diligence on investment managers across all asset classes (including hedge funds, credit, real assets, private equity, and venture capital).
- Develop due diligence plans, review managers’ documented procedures, attend onsite meetings with manager leadership teams (COO, CFO, CCO, etc.).
- Coordinate background checks and prepare written analyses of managers’ business and operational capabilities and their risk management frameworks.
- Provide support in the review of external service providers such as fund administrators, law firms, auditors, compliance consultants, and prime brokers.
- Review and monitor audited financial statements and ongoing operational and risk‑related developments at investment manager firms.
- Maintain a database of fund operational and vendor data for strategy and peer group analyses.
- Coordinate special projects and collaborate with operational due diligence analysts, investment research professionals, and investment directors.
- 1‑3 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in investment fund operations, fund accounting, risk management, auditing of investment products, or an investment management regulatory/compliance environment.
- Experience conducting operational due diligence preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree with a record of achievement.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests for information while maintaining integrity, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team under tight deadlines.
- Ability to travel for work (~20%).
Base salary range: $80,000 – $88,500. The position is eligible for an annual performance‑based bonus and a comprehensive, competitive benefits package.
