Role Overview

The Sr. Family Office Financial Planner has a well‑developed understanding of the wealth management industry and a passion for financial planning, client engagement, and high‑touch client service. As a member of the RWA Family Office Financial Planning team, you will advise clients with net worths in excess of $10,000,000 on all aspects of financial planning, support the team in preparing financial projections, implementing plans, addressing client needs, and maintaining relationships.

You are expected to lead, understand, and deal with complex family dynamics, intricate estate plans, and multigenerational planning issues.

Responsibilities
  • Lead clients with planning and analysis in areas including, but not limited to, income taxes, insurance, equity compensation, trust and estate planning, Social Security, Medicare, retirement planning, educational funding, and investment planning.
  • Anticipate client planning needs, recognize challenges, and provide swift, efficient solutions.
  • Demonstrate our value through understanding our investment platform, using our financial planning tools, and utilizing the wealth services offered by the firm. Work with, and when appropriate, enlist outside advisors such as insurance brokers, tax preparers, attorneys, and mortgage brokers to implement other aspects of a client’s financial plan.
  • Contribute to our culture of knowledge sharing and best practice creation.
  • Take a leading role in meetings with current clients and potential prospects, demonstrate our depth and breadth of expertise, identify planning issues, and explain our unique competitive advantages. Identify opportunities for increasing wallet share with existing clients.
  • Collect, enter and analyze client data, and create, update, and present financial plans to clients of the Family Office.
  • Work with the RWA Wealth Family Office investment team to analyze asset allocation of client portfolios.
  • Conduct market research, client processing, and prepare marketing literature for prospective clients.
  • Draft financial planning newsletters and present to groups on financial planning topics.
  • Maintain proactive client contact, answering questions and addressing needs as they arise.
  • Comply with all internal procedures, policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Perform other tasks as necessary to support a growing and evolving business.

Education, Experience And Qualifications
  • Seven or more years of experience in financial planning or a related field, including at least three years of direct client‑facing experience with high net worth clients and demonstrated growth into managing larger and more complex relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills with sharp attention to detail.
  • Self‑starter with the ability to work independently with complex and diverse clients.
  • Time‑management and organizational skills to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
  • Computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with eMoney software is a requirement.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to interact with co‑workers, other professional advisors, and clients.
  • Advanced personal finance knowledge.
  • Estate planning knowledge.
  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • Series 65 license or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire. If the candidate is working toward becoming a Certified Financial Planner®, this requirement is waived.
