Position Summary

The Senior Member Credit Analyst is responsible for monitoring and assessing the financial condition of the Bank’s member institutions. The Analyst also participates in the credit underwriting process by reviewing credit requests and ensuring that such requests are compliant with the Bank’s risk guidelines. In addition, the Analyst produces routine or ad-hoc credit reports and supports broader sector credit reviews. This role will have a hybrid work schedule in our Boston office in accordance with the Bank’s Hybrid Work Program.

More time will be expected in the office to support onboarding initially.

Anticipated Pay Range

The anticipated base pay range for this role is $97,750 - $149,500. This role is based in Boston with weekly in-office expectations. All Bank full‑time positions are eligible to participate in our annual incentive program and our robust total rewards offerings, in addition to the base pay.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Assess the financial condition of member institutions and prospect members by preparing comprehensive credit reviews. Initially focus on reviews of member banks and credit unions and, over time, analyze less complex insurance members.
  • Monitor member and market trends and developments and communicate key themes to internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in or lead due diligence calls with senior management of member institutions.
  • Present credit recommendations to the Bank’s Credit Committee.
  • Review and approve credit requests, ensuring compliance with the Bank’s guidelines.
  • Run member and industry financial data through the Bank’s credit models; perform back‑testing and benchmarking to assess model performance.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly Credit Committee meeting package, including the production of reports related to the financial condition of the membership, and support the compilation of meeting minutes.
  • Work closely with other team members on special projects undertaken to support the overall goals and objectives of the Credit Department.
  • Stay informed of regulatory and reporting changes issued by member regulators, including updates to quarterly call report requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in finance, accounting or economics or directly related equivalent work experience required.
Experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of financial analysis experience, with a focus on depository institutions and preferably insurance companies.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Experience as a credit analyst covering financial institutions, and preferably insurance companies, including familiarity with key regulatory and accounting considerations, core financial drivers, credit metrics, and related risk issues. Ability to apply financial expertise to practical, real‑world analyses.
  • Ability to write concise, well‑structured credit reports that clearly convey the information supporting conclusions, and to effectively present conclusions and/or recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess the relative importance of key credit metrics and other relevant financial and qualitative factors, with a desire to continuously enhance analytical skills and subject‑matter knowledge.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, data manipulation from multiple sources, queries, pivot tables, etc. Experience with S&P CapIQ (SNL) Data Wizard is a plus; familiarity with Power BI is helpful.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with senior management of member institutions and internal stakeholders across the Bank.
  • Demonstrated confidence, initiative, and ability to complete assignments independently and in a timely manner.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • High degree of integrity and personal ethics, with a willingness to perform duties in accordance with company and departmental policies and procedures.
