Job Overview
Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street in Boston is seeking a Staff Accountant – Residential to support the Assistant Director of Finance and residential operations with general accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Responsibilities- Assist the Assistant Director of Finance in maintaining the general ledger and conducting balance sheet reconciliations for residential and primary entities.
- Support residential operations with administrative duties and operational controls, ensuring internal controls safeguard hotel assets.
- Maintain reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats and prepare financial statements, accruals, and journal entries.
- Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for residential and primary entities.
- Perform and analyze daily, monthly, and periodic accounting and financial reporting accurately and timely.
- Execute bank reconciliations, cash counts for all issued banks, and report discrepancies.
- Prepare backup work papers for balance sheet and P&L accounts to support internal and external audits.
- Assist residential staff with issues such as HOA and folio charges, purchasing, and owner inquiries.
- Control capex expenditure and FF&E reserves for residential and primary entities.
- Generate accurate Daily Business Reports, including all à la carte revenues.
- Oversee payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, and cashiering operations; review labor reports and explain variances.
- College degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
- One to five years of accounting experience in a hotel, resort, or similar hospitality organization.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in a hotel/resort environment.
- Integrity, transparency, and strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to prepare reports and deliver presentations.
- Strategic, analytical mindset with solid business acumen.
- Proficiency in Sun, Blackline, and Opera Systems is preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Salary Range: $83,913 to $88,634
