Title

Principal Product Manager – Billing

Responsibilities
  • Define and evolve the product strategy for Duck Creek’s billing capabilities, ensuring solutions enable accurate premium billing, payment flexibility, direct or agency billing, operational efficiency, and financial integrity.
  • Own the product roadmap for billing workflows, collections, and payment experiences; translate insurer billing practices, regulatory requirements, financial controls, and data insights into scalable product capabilities.
  • Act as the general manager for the billing domain, owning strategy, execution, and financial outcomes.
  • Lead structured product discovery to frame complex billing, payment, and financial‑operations problems in partnership with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as primary product steward for billing and finance personas, ensuring workflows reflect real‑world operational constraints.
  • Provide product leadership for AI‑enabled capabilities that improve payment optimization, collections prioritization, anomaly detection, and exception handling.
  • Partner with data science, analytics, engineering, and architecture teams to integrate models and ensure solutions are technically sound, scalable, and aligned with platform standards.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Professional Services to support value articulation and consistent product positioning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and/or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
  • 7+ years of product management experience in SaaS or enterprise software environments.
  • Demonstrated experience owning complex workflow or decision‑centric product domains.
  • Experience designing, building, or integrating sub‑ledger or General Ledger solutions within insurance or financial services environments.
  • Deep understanding of P&C billing operations, including invoicing, payment processing, collections, commissions, disbursements, reconciliation, and regulatory considerations.
  • Hands‑on experience with billing systems preferred.
  • Experience delivering configurable, transaction‑centric platforms, including rules‑driven and AI‑enabled workflows, and translating customer needs, regulatory constraints, and analytical outputs into governed product decisions.
  • Strong product management fundamentals with ability to decompose complex problems into structured capabilities, prioritize initiatives using value, risk, and effort trade‑offs, and operate effectively within agile iterative delivery models.
  • Proven ability to partner cross‑functionally with engineering, data, architecture, finance, and business leaders and communicate clearly across technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated judgment and autonomy in operating within defined strategic direction and governance frameworks, proactively identifying and surfacing risks, trade‑offs, and dependencies with clear recommendations.
  • Strong execution discipline, organizational rigor, and accountability for commitments and outcomes.

Compensation
  • 171,900 – 245,500 USD for Boston, New York City‑Newark, Los Angeles, San Francisco/Bay Area, Seattle, or Washington, DC metropolitan areas.
  • 163,700 – 233,900 USD for Chicago, Dallas‑Fort Worth, Houston, Minneapolis, or Philadelphia metropolitan areas, or Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Rhode Island, or Vermont.
  • 155,600 – 222,300 USD for Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Oregon, or Wisconsin.
  • 137,800 – 215,400 USD for all other U.S. locations.
  • 135,000 – 185,000 CAD for Canada location.
  • Eligible for annual bonus compensation, subject to plan terms and individual eligibility.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with up to 6% employer match up to $12,000 annually.
