A rapidly growing, private?equity?backed organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead end?to?end payroll operations for a large, multi?state workforce. This role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing while supporting continued growth and operational scalability.
Responsibilities- Oversee full?cycle payroll processing for 1,000+ employees across multiple states
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and labor laws
- Serve as the primary owner and subject?matter expert for ADP Workforce Now
- Manage payroll audits, reconciliations, and year?end activities including W?2s and filings
- Partner closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure data accuracy and alignment
- Lead and develop payroll staff; establish best practices, controls, and documentation
- Drive process improvements, automation, and scalability in a high?growth environment
- Handle complex payroll issues including garnishments, multi?state taxation, and off?cycle payrolls
- 5+ years of payroll leadership experience in a large, multi?state environment
- Proven experience managing payroll for 1,000+ employees
- Hands?on expertise with ADP Workforce Now
- Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and audit processes
- Experience in a PE?backed, high?growth, or evolving organization preferred
- Detail?oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to partner cross?functionally and communicate effectively at all levels
