Regional Finance Director
Cooper Douglas is conducting a search on behalf of a leading $10B distribution and services organization seeking a Regional Finance Director to support a multi-billion-dollar operating region. This is a highly visible finance leadership opportunity for a strategic business partner who thrives in a fast-paced, operationally focused environment. The Regional Finance Director will play a critical role in driving financial performance, supporting executive decision-making, and helping operational leaders execute against growth and profitability objectives across a large multi-site business.
This role is ideal for a finance leader who enjoys working closely with the business, influencing decision-making, and translating complex financial data into actionable insights that improve performance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted financial partner to senior operational leadership
- Lead annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and long-range planning processes for a multi-billion-dollar region
- Provide financial guidance and strategic support to drive revenue growth, margin expansion, and overall profitability
- Develop financial models and business cases to evaluate strategic initiatives, investments, operational improvements, and growth opportunities
- Deliver actionable insights through financial analysis, KPI reporting, and performance dashboards
- Analyze sales trends, pricing, margins, operating expenses, and productivity metrics to identify risks and opportunities
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, supply chain, and corporate finance teams to support business objectives
- Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews, presenting financial performance, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership
- Drive variance analysis and proactively identify key business drivers impacting results
- Support capital investment decisions and resource allocation strategies
- Establish and enhance reporting, forecasting, and analytical processes to improve visibility and decision-making
- Leverage automation, business intelligence tools, and advanced analytics to improve reporting efficiency and financial insight
- Build strong relationships across the organization while serving as a key contributor to strategic and operational initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required
- MBA, CPA, or other advanced certification preferred
- 10+ years of progressive finance, FP&A, operations finance, or commercial finance experience
- Experience supporting large, complex, multi-site organizations
- Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and business analytics
- Proven experience partnering directly with operational leaders and influencing business decisions
- Ability to translate financial information into meaningful recommendations for non-financial stakeholders
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools preferred
- Strong executive presence with excellent communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
- Experience with in distribution, manufacturing, logistics, industrial services, consumer products, or other operationally intensive industries strongly preferred
Compensation
Base salary: $175,000 to $200,000 + bonus: 25%
Location
Hybrid work arrangement in the Boston area
Travel
Approximately up to 20%
