Controller Position
We have an immediate opening for a Controller for a ~$40M+ business (part of a publicly-held $5B global manufacturer.) In this key leadership role, you will own finance for the business, reporting directly to the Division President, operating as a CFO for the organization. This organization offers continual growth through over 50+ business units and divisions domestically and worldwide. Rich history, strong product recognition (complex products for aero/def, semiconductor, general mfg), steady organic growth, dynamic environment Decentralized business where you will own operational finance, cost accounting, FP&A, compliance, and drive process improvements across a 35+ year old company Lead a stable team with projections to add headcount as the business continues to thrive Hold responsibility for month/quarter/year end close of the MA site and 1 international site
Primary Responsibilities:- Financial reporting and analysis
- Operations reporting
- Compliance
- Implementing process improvements
- Hands-on operational accounting
- Product cost accounting and inventory management
- Financial systems' closure
- Preparation of financial statements
- Monthly forecasts
- Detailed financial analyses
- Oversee the month-end closing process and weekly/monthly forecasts
- Train, mentor, and coach the current team, fostering a talent pipeline
- Implement finance/accounting changes to enhance productivity and reduce costs
- Manage accounting and IT functions
- Review capital expenditure requests and ensure compliance with both Internal & External Audits
- Promote safe working practices for an injury-free workplace
- Accountable for product costing and profitability analyses
- Complete the annual operating budget and work towards improved working capital management
- Manage all aspects of inventory management related to valuation and accuracy
- Oversee a robust internal control environment and ensure compliance with all SOX requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance Advanced degree and/or CPA preferred, not required Minimum 3 years managerial experience, with public finance manufacturing leadership experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX, with experience in monthly/quarterly closings and compliance. Cost accounting, variance analysis, and reconciliation knowledge desired Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Hyperion Financial Management is a plus. Strong work ethic, demonstrated achievement, and a disciplined problem-solving style.
