Corporate Development Associate

Role Overview

Corporate Development is a strategic team responsible for managing Manulife’s mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures end‑to‑end, driving major projects aligned with company goals. The Manager, Corporate Development focuses on performing valuations using various financial techniques to support transactions and presents findings to stakeholders. The role is highly collaborative and cross‑functional, ensuring transactions are well structured, risk managed, and aligned with growth objectives.

• Support the valuation process for potential transactions, including peer review of calculations and transaction metrics.
• Assess the impact of transactions or strategic initiatives with respect to Manulife’s operations, goals and objectives from a financial and strategic perspective.
• Develop written presentations that present analysis and conclusions clearly and concisely.
• Conduct detailed research on company or industry specific information, including competitor analysis, industry transaction analysis, emerging competitive, capital, regulatory and accounting landscapes.
• Assist in managing transactions from initial evaluation through due diligence, negotiations and closing.
• Liaise with other areas to ensure valuation assumptions are appropriate and consistent with Manulife’s standards.

• Over 4 years of experience in Corporate Development or Investment Banking.
• CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
• Strong financial background with ability to analyze results, identify issues and coordinate quick, appropriate resolutions.
• Flexibility and organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
• Competence in developing pro forma financial statements on a standalone and consolidated basis.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership and visual presentation skills (particularly in Microsoft PowerPoint).
• Proactive, self‑directed and able to work independently with a team of professionals.

Boston, Massachusetts.

Work Arrangement:
Hybrid (LI‑Hybrid, LI‑JH).

Salary range: $73,350.00 – $ USD, with incentive programs and performance‑linked compensation.
