Portfolio Analyst

Full-time Position | Boston, MA
$50,000 – $75,000 a year

This position will be responsible for financial and business analysis supporting financial forecasting, lease pricing/economic evaluations and capital markets investor reporting activities. The position will report to the manager of financial analysis, with close interaction with other functional areas of accounting, operations and marketing. The position is based in Beacon Intermodal Leasing’s office in Boston and reports to the Manager of Financial Analysis and Planning.

• Assist with monthly financial forecasts and annual budget, enhancing support of BIL business activities and market factors with financial forecasts
• Prepare monthly third-party investor reports outlining operational results of the fleet and corresponding cash flow activities, and address investor inquiries
• Prepare and support economic evaluations of lease opportunities in coordination with marketing, involving preparation of supporting materials and as required managing approval process
• Contribute to profitability analysis, including enhancing analysis of economic and accounting returns within the portfolio (at a lease or investment level), and apply this to support lease transaction and investment decisions
• Contribute to initiatives and projects as required, including development and automation of business management reports

• In-depth knowledge and understanding of financial statements, financial and cash flow analysis, metrics, and reporting
• Familiarity debt financing and reporting
• Strong background with Excel and data analysis, proficient with MS Word, Power Point
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced global organization that is subject to frequent change
• Must be self-motivated, with initiative and ability to manage multiple projects to completion with sensitivity to deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism
• Ability to work in a team environment that promotes inclusiveness and communication among team members
• Ability to communicate and advocate with a variety of internal & external constituencies
• Bring fresh ideas to the group, including a process and automation mindset

• 2-5 years’ experience in Finance, Accounting or Banking
