Trade Operations Analyst - Boston, MA
We are seeking candidates for a Trade Operations Analyst position with an elite investment management firm located in Boston, MA. This role supports investment teams by ensuring portfolio transactions and holdings comply with client investment guidelines and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and interested in developing expertise in investment operations and compliance within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
This is a 6-12+ month contract position that will pay $30-40/hr (depending on experience) within a 40-hour workweek. This position supports a hybrid work model, onsite 4 days per week, remote 1 day per week.
Responsibilities:- Review Investment Management Agreements (IMAs) to interpret and implement client investment guidelines.
- Maintain and update investment restrictions within the firm's guideline monitoring system (Sentinel).
- Provide real-time pre-trade support to investment professionals to ensure proposed transactions comply with client mandates.
- Investigate and resolve post-trade compliance exceptions generated by the monitoring system.
- Partner closely with Investment Operations, Portfolio Management, Product Management, and Global Relationship teams to address guideline-related inquiries.
- Develop a strong understanding of investment strategies, client mandates, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of guideline data while identifying opportunities to improve operational processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in investment operations, compliance, financial services, or a related field (internship experience is acceptable).
- Working knowledge of investment products, including equities, fixed income securities, and derivatives.
- Experience with investment guideline monitoring, portfolio compliance, or regulatory requirements is preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Exposure to SQL, Python, AI tools, or data analysis technologies is a plus, but not required.
