Risk Manager/Analyst, Financial Analyst
About the Role
Grade Level (for internal use): 12. The Credit Ratings team, part of Global Ratings Services, comprises a diverse group of approximately 1,400 analysts. This role focuses on complex project‑finance and infrastructure credit analysis in the North America market, supporting new financings and refinancing of infrastructure projects across power, midstream, refining, and digital infrastructure sectors. Analysts will use corporate credit and project finance skills to facilitate capital formation for the sector.
Responsibilities- Team Contribution & Capability Building
:
Act as a senior reference point coaching Research Assistants, Rating Analysts, and Senior Analysts on credit fundamentals, modelling discipline, data quality, and standard work; coordinate work across credits; embed continuous improvement; partner with stakeholders to identify and shape high‑impact use cases; model enterprise behaviors of Discovery, Integrity, and Partnership. - Core Analytical & Delivery
:
Deliver end‑to‑end analytical execution across a defined portfolio, drive surveillance and analytical updates, own key output quality, use approved GenAI/LLMs to accelerate research, validate inputs, and reconcile metrics. - Stakeholder & Market Engagement
:
Synthesize data, analysis, and research into executive‑ready, market‑facing narratives; build collaborative stakeholder trust; contribute to strategic initiatives and thought leadership. - Risk Management and Operating
:
Ensure adherence to methodology, confidentiality, and data governance; embed responsible AI use; drive controlled automation and agentic workflows; partner with Data/Engineering to scale safely and define monitoring.
- Five to ten years of relevant professional experience;
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, MBA) highly valued. - Strong research, data, credit, and financial analysis skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear, evidence‑based narratives.
- Deep understanding of the financial services environment and the ability to connect developments to emerging risk themes.
- Practical AI fluency: experience embedding GenAI/LLMs and agentic workflows, disciplined validation, governance, and judgement.
- Proven coaching and mentorship of junior analysts; continuous improvement mindset; ability to simplify processes through standardization and automation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for committee‑ready documentation, presentation, and interaction with issuers, investors, and market participants.
- High standards for accuracy, traceability, governance; consistent adherence to methodology, documentation, and confidentiality; sound judgement on responsible AI/automation practices.
