Director, Product & Platform Central Finance
Location: San Francisco, CA (preferred); any U.S./Canada location willing to work West Coast hours considered.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid.
Position OverviewReporting to the Head of Corporate and Product Finance, the Director of Product & Platform Central Finance will shape strategy and facilitate the continuous advancement of our product strategic finance function. This role partners with the business on key deliverables and projects and collaborates with the other five product and platform finance teams to deliver consistent, automated, and high‑value financial insights across product and platform initiatives.
Responsibilities- Industry/Product topline and unit economics reporting and analytics: Drive consistent industry and product level topline reporting, forecasting, root‑cause analytics to support timely performance insights and decision‑making. Provide product and platform financials and insights for QBRs.
- Industry/product portfolio management: Design and maintain a consistent portfolio approach to optimize allocation of product investments; develop and provide consistent unit economics reporting and insights by industry and product; evolve data availability and reporting with peer and technology teams.
- Product pricing and packaging financial analytics: Establish and evolve pricing and packaging analysis playbooks to support pricing and promotion decisions; ensure access to relevant cost and topline data; share findings with executives and influence decision making, including at pricing committee meetings.
- Industry/Product strategic and annual planning: Develop processes and templates supporting Autodesk’s long‑range and annual planning by industry and product; manage the product and platform finance calendar; program‑manage and review planning outputs for world‑class quality; consolidate across teams.
- Industry/Product hierarchy management: Evolve the product hierarchy for internal and external reporting, addressing both internal needs and investor expectations.
- Automation and AI Adoption: Drive automation of repeatable product and platform finance processes; represent finance for cross‑company automation initiatives; drive adoption of company AI tools to increase insights and efficiencies for business partners.
- Industry/Product Board and CEO‑Staff communication: Contribute to the Board and CEO‑Staff materials for strategic and annual planning milestones; opportunity to present key product and platform finance projects to engineering CEO‑Staff members.
- M&A: Develop playbooks for financial modeling and evaluation of potential deals, including due diligence and integration; support specific deals as needed.
- Spend management: Centralize, standardize and automate headcount and spend processes, including forecasting, closing and spend analytics; simplify and eliminate steps wherever feasible.
- Lead team: Design organizational structure, capacity and capabilities; attract, retain and develop a high‑performing finance team.
- 12+ years of experience in strategic finance roles, especially in financial planning & analysis at a large public software company.
- Proven experience in product and go‑to‑market/corporate FP&A.
- Proven experience partnering with C‑Level executives at large public companies.
- Experience in finance support of M&A deals.
- Experience in SaaS and Consumption business planning, operating, reporting and pricing & packaging.
- Strong accounting and financial planning process and systems leadership experience in high‑performance, analytic and data‑driven cultures.
- Skilled at working across multiple levels, from high‑level strategy to disciplined processes in complex planning cycles.
- Solution‑driven, innovative and creative mindset.
- Zero‑defect and principles‑first mindset.
- Hands‑on modeling and analytical skills; ability to serve as a role model for the team.
- Proven track record of financial systems, process & tools improvement/automation.
