Backed by an experienced leadership team and supported by strong market momentum, the business has established a differentiated position within the insurance market and is now investing in the infrastructure required to support long-term growth.
As part of this evolution, the company is seeking a Vice President of Finance to build and lead the finance function, establish best-in-class financial processes and controls, and serve as a key strategic partner to the executive leadership team.
This is a highly visible leadership role offering the opportunity to shape the financial foundation of a growing insurance organisation while working directly alongside the CEO, COO and Chief Underwriting Officer.
The OpportunityThe Vice President of Finance will be responsible for developing the financial infrastructure required to support a scaling insurance business.
The successful candidate will oversee all core finance activities, including controllership, financial reporting, planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management and regulatory financial operations.
Beyond traditional finance responsibilities, this individual will act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, helping drive strategic decision-making across underwriting, operations, growth initiatives and corporate planning.
This role is ideally suited to a finance leader who enjoys building, improving and scaling functions rather than simply maintaining existing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Build and scale the finance function to support continued organisational growth.
- Establish robust financial controls, governance frameworks and reporting processes.
- Lead all controllership activities including accounting operations, month-end close and financial reporting.
- Develop budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning capabilities.
- Partner closely with underwriting leadership to improve portfolio visibility, performance measurement and profitability analysis.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, COO and Chief Underwriting Officer on business performance and growth initiatives.
- Deliver meaningful management reporting and KPI dashboards to support executive decision-making.
- Oversee treasury management, cash flow planning and capital management activities.
- Support board reporting, investor communications and strategic planning initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes and financial infrastructure.
- Help evaluate future opportunities including new products, programs, partnerships and expansion initiatives.
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience within the insurance industry.
- Experience supporting the growth and scaling of an insurance carrier, MGA, MGU or specialty insurance platform.
- Strong foundation across accounting, controllership, FP&A and strategic finance.
- Demonstrated experience building finance functions, processes and reporting infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of insurance financial operations, underwriting economics and profitability management.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-growing and entrepreneurial environment.
- Experience partnering directly with executive leadership teams and influencing strategic decisions.
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance operational discipline and growth.
- CPA, Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Establishing scalable finance processes capable of supporting continued growth.
- Creating greater visibility into underwriting performance, profitability and business metrics.
- Building executive confidence through accurate reporting, forecasting and strategic insights.
