Quantitative Investment Analyst - Custom Income Strategies (CIS) Job Description
Loomis Sayles seeks an enthusiastic and passionate candidate to join the Custom Income Strategies (CIS) team as a Quantitative Investment Analyst. The role reports to the Director of CIS and assists portfolio managers on day-to-day portfolio management.
About the TeamCIS is an investment team dedicated to managing complex, customized fixed‑income mandates across insurance, pensions, and retail. The team is based in Boston, MA and consists of nine individuals.
Job Responsibilities- Work as an integral member of the CIS team on portfolio management tasks.
- Employ and enhance existing proprietary portfolio construction tool to create model portfolios in close collaboration with portfolio managers and strategists.
- Assist portfolio managers with day‑to‑day management, trade generation, and risk monitoring of custom portfolios.
- Monitor and run risk/attribution analysis on accounts and prepare materials for internal and external meetings.
- Carry out special projects as needed.
- Enhance or customize data reports used in the portfolio management process.
- Contribute to achieving the team’s objective of delivering high‑quality work in a collegial environment.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, or related technical field.
- 4–6 years of experience in fixed income, focusing on portfolio construction via optimization, quantitative relative value, and risk management. Asset allocation experience is a plus.
- Strong interest in financial markets and investment management.
- Strong technical, problem‑solving, and programming skills; high proficiency in Python, SQL, VBA, and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High attention to detail.

- Strategic thinker able to prioritize multiple projects.
- High integrity, growth mindset, and a team player.
The position follows a hybrid schedule with two days remote and three days in office.
Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range for this position is $100,000 – $160,000 USD, with a discretionary annual incentive award based on performance. A comprehensive benefits package supports health, well‑being, and financial security.
