Senior Investment Accounting & Reporting Associate

Our client, a leading investment management firm in the Boston area, is seeking a Senior Investment Accounting & Reporting Associate to join its growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting or finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to complex investment structures, financial reporting, and technology-driven process improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review financial statements, investor reporting packages, NAV calculations, allocation schedules, and other financial deliverables.
  • Coordinate with external fund administrators and auditors while maintaining strong internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams including investment operations, FP&A, investor relations, and finance on strategic initiatives.
  • Interpret and apply complex legal agreements related to capital activity, allocations, management fees, carried interest, distributions, and investment guidelines.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, tax reporting, investment analysis, and other ad hoc projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting and accounting processes through automation, AI‑enabled tools, and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to evaluate, test, and implement system enhancements and process improvements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of public accounting (audit or tax preferred) or relevant financial reporting experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build efficient reporting models and templates.
  • Experience working with complex financial data and legal documentation is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team‑oriented mindset.
  • Experience with Python, Power BI, Alteryx, AI tools, or other automation technologies is a strong plus.
  • CPA, CFA, or progress toward a professional designation is preferred.
