Job Description

The Tax Manager, Alternative Investments assists in providing tax compliance & consulting services to our Venture Capital, Private Equity, Hedge Fund, and Real Estate clients.

Responsibilities
  • Tax Compliance:
    Ensures clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens; apply client circumstances to prepare filings; collect required data; use compliance software; collaborate with team; deliver high‑quality services; lead engagements; manage engagement billing, collections, and budget; build and manage client relationships; document work in the client tax file.
  • Tax Consulting:
    Assist with identifying, developing, recommending, and implementing efficient tax strategies.
  • Supervisory:
    Manage and mentor teams of Tax Seniors and Associates.
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; focus in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred;
    Master’s Degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred.
Experience
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience required.
  • Financial Services industry experience supporting Alternative Investment funds including Venture Capital, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Hedge Funds preferred.
  • Proficiency in the taxation of partnerships preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
License/Certifications
  • CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent ("EA") required.
  • Additional professional degrees or certifications beneficial.
Software
  • Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat; tax research databases; tax compliance process software.

Compensation
  • California: $112,000 - $150,000
  • Colorado: $90,000 - $130,000
  • Illinois: $105,000 - $130,000
  • Maryland: $113,000 - $120,000
  • Massachusetts: $120,000 - $127,000
  • Minnesota: $90,000 - $120,000
  • New Jersey: $115,000 - $140,000
  • NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $125,000 - $150,000
  • Washington: $110,000 - $125,000
  • Washington DC: $120,000 - $140,000
