Position OverviewWe are looking for an investment professional to join our U.S. Real Estate Private Debt team, supporting the origination, underwriting, and management of senior real estate debt investments across the U.S. The successful candidate will work closely with senior members of the investment team and gain exposure to the full investment lifecycle, including underwriting, due diligence, transaction execution, and portfolio monitoring.
Responsibilities- Support the financial modeling, underwriting, and closing of senior debt transactions; perform deep due diligence on borrowers and assets, procure market‑specific financial info, and analyze third‑party reports.
- Help prepare comprehensive materials for internal approvals and present deal merits and risks to the Investment Committee for new transactions and portfolio updates.
- Support the ongoing monitoring of loan covenants and manage construction/reserve draws; aid in preparation of monthly and quarterly portfolio monitoring reports.
- Monitor the macro environment and asset performance, reporting on financing maturities, lease terminations, and disbursement dates to the risk management committee.
- Maintain new investment pipeline across strategies.
- Conduct ad‑hoc projects to improve internal infrastructure and the investment process.
- 1‑3 years of commercial real‑estate lending experience, including construction loans, bridge loans, credit analysis, loan administration, and asset management.
- Exceptional underwriting and financial analysis, credit modeling, and risk assessment skills.
- Experience coordinating due diligence and closing, and working with third‑party consultants.
- Excellent communication skills to present deal risks and merits for investment decisions.
- Strong team orientation, ethics, integrity, and fiduciary accountability.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment, meet stringent timelines, and handle multiple demands simultaneously.
- Proven interpersonal skills and experience in a collaborative, results‑oriented environment.
- Ideally, an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Real Estate with a strong academic record.
Fiera Capital operates a hybrid working environment with four days in‑office per week. For all positions in Quebec (Montreal and Laval), proficiency in French (spoken and written) is mandatory; working English proficiency is also required.
