Financial Analyst

Boston, MA (Fenway Area) | Hybrid

Salary: $80,000 - $95,000, depending on experience

CFS is partnering with a highly respected nonprofit organization in Boston in seeking a Financial Analyst to support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and long-range planning initiatives. This individual will partner with leaders across the organization to provide meaningful financial insights, evaluate performance trends, and help ensure the long-term financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial review processes.
  • Prepare financial analyses, dashboards, and reports for leadership and Board committees.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and business decisions.
  • Analyze revenue trends, operating performance, and departmental spending.
  • Assist with endowment and investment reporting, including restricted and designated funds.
  • Partner with department leaders on financial planning, cost management, and special projects.
  • Support audit preparation, compliance activities, and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or related experience.
  • Experience with in a nonprofit, educational, cultural, healthcare, or endowment-driven organization (required).
  • Understanding of endowment accounting, investment reporting, or fund accounting (required).
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience preparing Board or committee-level financial materials.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as Oracle Fusion, Workday, Net Suite, or similar platforms.
  • CPA, CFA, MBA, or progress toward a professional designation is a plus.
