Position: Credit Analyst I - CRE & C&I

Job Title and Location

Credit Analyst I – Boston, Massachusetts, United States.

Hours:

40. Pay: $25.75 – $41.50 USD.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in‑depth industry and financial analysis of existing and potential borrowers.
  • Work cooperatively to support lending and credit functions of the bank.
  • Perform basic financial analysis of less complex loans, industries, and customers.
  • Review and monitor work under lead staff with a basic understanding of loan risk factors.
  • Research industry‑specific information from external sources such as borrowers, publications, libraries, credit agencies, and the internet.
  • Participate in customer meetings and make direct inquiries for specific customer information; may require travel at times.
  • Perform underwriting analysis of borrower’s character, creditworthiness, and financial condition.
  • Provide analytical support to the lending function.
  • Prepare insightful and timely approval memorandums for presentation to lending and credit authorities.
  • Analyze financial statements, management profiles, business and product cycles, cash‑flow ability, collateral, aging, etc. of future and existing customers to identify trends, measure performance, assess financial strength, and develop credit‑risk assessment.
  • Maintain credit files; monitor updated financial statements and prepare updated analysis memos.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide written analysis that identifies deviations from company commercial loan policy and be familiar with alternative structures to reduce credit risk.
  • Achieve operational performance standards in quality and timeliness.
Qualifications
  • 4‑year degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of related experience (preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of credit and financial analysis techniques.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of credit and customer information.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a team orientation.
