Front Office Credit Risk Analyst, AVP (Onsite)

State Street Markets ("SSM") is looking for an AVP to join the SSM Risk and FRM team in Boston. The team manages Credit, Market, and Model Risk as the First Line of Defense across SSM's business units, including Financing Solutions, FX Sales & Trading, and Portfolio Solutions. Additionally, Financial Resource Management ('FRM'), covering allocation, monitoring, and optimization of capital, funding, and liquidity is performed.

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Front Office Credit Risk in Boston, this AVP role is responsible for first line credit risk management across multiple business units within SSM. Traditional counter party credit analysis skills and trading product knowledge are prerequisites for success. The ideal candidate will have a background in Capital Markets with exposure to FX and OTC Derivatives. These prerequisites will position the candidate for success in their support of multiple SSM product offerings.

Demonstrated experience in credit risk analysis of a wide variety of counter parties, including financial institutions and alternative funds is of central importance. The role is in Boston, with a minimum of 4 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct credit reviews of counter parties and prospects within each SSM business line.
  • Partner with sales and relationship management teams to ensure timely and thorough credit analysis of new relationships.
  • Negotiate client-facing credit terms in agreements for all SSM counter parties and ensure appropriate monitoring of ATEs.
  • Manage the collection of up-to-date financial information for all counter parties.
  • Participate in periodic and ad-hoc due diligence calls and visits.
  • Proactively review and analyze credit utilization reports and investigate any over-limit conditions.
  • Help manage the relationship between Front Office Risk and Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Inform Enterprise Risk Management of all relevant counter party developments.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned to support the Front Office Credit and Market Risk teams.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in an economics or business-related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in counter party credit risk preferred.
  • Formal credit training is strongly preferred.
  • Professional designation (CFA, FRM) preferred but not required
  • Strong risk management and control focus.
  • A demonstrated ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Salary Range:

$90,000 - $157,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
