Financial Controller – Personal Injury Department

Georges Cote LLP is one of Massachusetts' largest and fastest-growing personal injury law firms, with more than 100 professionals committed to delivering exceptional results and client service.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Controller to join our Personal Injury Department in our Chelsea, Massachusetts office. This is a full-time, on-site position for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working in a collaborative, high-volume setting.

Responsibilities
  • Review and validate settlement proceeds, incoming payments, and receivables.
  • Prepare and issue client settlement checks, lien payments, medical payments, and attorney fee disbursements.
  • Reconcile settlement funds and ensure all financial transactions are accurate and timely.
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding settlement payments, disbursement timelines, and financial questions.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and the accounting team to ensure efficient processing of settlements.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and assist with reconciliations and internal reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with firm accounting procedures and trust accounting requirements.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of accounting, finance, or controller experience.
  • Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  • Law firm experience is a plus.
  • Personal injury law firm experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Net Suite is a plus.
  • Experience with TD eTreasury or similar treasury management platforms is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
