Financial Controller – Personal Injury Department

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Controller to join our Personal Injury Department in our Chelsea, Massachusetts office. This is a full-time, on-site position for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working in a collaborative, high-volume setting.
Responsibilities- Review and validate settlement proceeds, incoming payments, and receivables.
- Prepare and issue client settlement checks, lien payments, medical payments, and attorney fee disbursements.
- Reconcile settlement funds and ensure all financial transactions are accurate and timely.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding settlement payments, disbursement timelines, and financial questions.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and the accounting team to ensure efficient processing of settlements.
- Maintain accurate financial records and assist with reconciliations and internal reporting.
- Ensure compliance with firm accounting procedures and trust accounting requirements.
- 3+ years of accounting, finance, or controller experience.
- Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial controls.
- Law firm experience is a plus.
- Personal injury law firm experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Net Suite is a plus.
- Experience with TD eTreasury or similar treasury management platforms is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
