Position Summary
Operations Specialist – Corporate Actions Reorganization. Responsible for performing specialized operational securities processing activities in support of the firm’s business lines, including notification announcement input, instruction receipt and authentication, instruction entry, processing and recording, reporting and acknowledgement, and reconciliation. Primary focus on daily deliverables and execution of defined procedures and analysis while gaining understanding of the big picture and how work impacts the firm.
Work is thoroughly reviewed and validated by more senior personnel.
- Scrubbing announcements from market data vendors, company information, and depositories and agents.
- Input information into the Corporate Action platform for income and mandatory actions.
- Identify complex events and communicate to team members.
- Process class action suits.
- Process elections.
- Enter client instructions manually into the Corporate Actions platform.
- Process agent confirmations through the platform for communication to clients.
- Communicate uninstructed positions to clients daily written and verbally.
- Process client account profile requests for corporate actions.
- Enter payments manually onto the Corporate Actions platform.
- Balance and reconcile positions related to corporate action activity.
- Reconcile receivables and payables to ensure accurate client cash projections.
- Client service: communicate uninstructed positions via phone call to clients.
- Participate in client presentations or calls.
- Identify problem items.
- Communicate professionally and constructively to resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Skills and Abilities
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated PC skills.
- Ability to identify, escalate and resolve a problem.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Time‑management and organizational skills, detail oriented.
- Ability to multi‑task and work under pressure.
- Team‑work orientation.
- Ability to process transactions timely and accurately, meet deadlines.
Salary Range (Boston): $45,000 – $60,000 plus annual performance bonus. BBH compensation includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit‑sharing. Benefits include long‑term savings, healthcare, income protection, professional development opportunities, and paid time off.
