Job Description & How to Apply Below

Our client is one of the most exciting and fastest-growing specialty reinsurance businesses in the market, backed by exceptional investors and led by an experienced executive team with a proven track record of building world-class insurance organisations.

About the Role

As the business enters its next phase of growth, they are seeking an outstanding Senior Vice President of Finance to build and lead a best-in-class finance organisation from the ground up. This is far more than a traditional finance leadership position. It is an opportunity to architect the financial infrastructure of a rapidly scaling reinsurance platform, partnering directly with the executive leadership team to shape strategy, enable growth and build the operational foundations required for a market-leading business.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role as the company transitions its finance capability in-house, creating scalable processes, building high-performing teams and implementing the systems, controls and reporting frameworks required to support continued expansion. For ambitious finance leaders who enjoy building rather than maintaining, this represents a genuinely career-defining opportunity.

  • Develop financial strategies that support rapid growth and long-term profitability.
  • Provide commercial insight across underwriting, capital allocation and business performance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on strategic initiatives, investments and operational decisions.

  • Lead the transition of finance operations from outsourced providers to an internally managed function.
  • Design and build a scalable finance operating model capable of supporting continued business expansion.
  • Recruit, mentor and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Establish a culture focused on excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Own all financial reporting activities, including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Develop robust financial controls, governance frameworks and accounting policies.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Lead relationships with external auditors, tax advisors and regulatory bodies.
Planning & Analysis
  • Build sophisticated budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning capabilities.
  • Deliver meaningful financial insights to support executive decision-making.
  • Develop KPI dashboards and performance reporting across the business.
  • Partner with underwriting leadership to improve financial visibility and profitability.
Systems & Infrastructure
  • Lead finance systems implementation and optimisation.
  • Design scalable financial processes that support automation and operational efficiency.
  • Improve reporting capabilities through technology and data analytics.
  • Build an infrastructure capable of supporting future international expansion and increasing transaction volumes.

  • Significant senior finance leadership experience within the insurance or reinsurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of specialty insurance and reinsurance financial operations.
  • Experience building, transforming or scaling finance functions.
  • Demonstrated success leading organisational change.
  • Exceptional commercial acumen with the ability to influence executive decision-making.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience implementing financial systems and operational improvements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
