** Role Overview
** Liberty Mutual Investments (LMI), the investment firm for Liberty Mutual Group managing more than $100B of long-term capital globally, is hiring a Senior Analyst to join its Direct Lending team within the Global Credit Markets business. The team of nearly 300 investment, finance, and operations professionals is based in Boston, MA and New York, NY.
** Key Responsibilities**- Invest in private debt financings across the capital structure, with emphasis on unitranche, first lien, and second lien loans
- Support the investment process end-to-end — sourcing, underwriting, and ongoing portfolio monitoring of private loans
- Conduct company and industry research and develop investment recommendations alongside Team Leaders and Credit Research
- Contribute to investment committee memoranda, including financial projections
- Assist in evaluating, structuring, and negotiating economic and legal terms at term sheet and documentation stages
- Monitor performance of existing investments and maintain relationships with Borrowers/Sponsors and Agents
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Accounting, and Risk Management
- Support relationship coverage with private equity firms across the lower, middle, and large market to help meet origination targets
** Qualifications**- 3+ years of experience, including at least 1+ years in investing, preferably in direct lending / private credit
- Prior experience underwriting and monitoring credit investments
- Experience with credit agreement documentation and other legal documentation
- Strong ability to assess company, industry, and market risk
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
