Job Overview – Finance Associate (Private Equity)
Compensation: $80,000 – $90,000/year +bonus

Atlantic Group is hiring a Finance Associate (Private Equity) in Boston, MA for our client, a leading alternative investment firm. This role supports fund accounting, investment operations, financial reporting, and investor activities across multiple private investment strategies. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of accounting experience in public accounting, fund administration, or private equity and is looking to build a long-term career within a collaborative, high-performing finance team.
Responsibilitiesas the Finance Associate (Private Equity):
- Fund Accounting: Prepare journal entries, maintain supporting schedules, and assist with quarterly and year-end financial reporting for investment funds.
- Investment Operations: Support capital calls, distributions, investment activity, cash management, reconciliations, and transaction documentation.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, investment schedules, and supporting work papers while ensuring accurate accounting under GAAP and tax reporting requirements.
- Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with third-party fund administrators, prepare audit support, monitor partnership agreement requirements, and assist with regulatory and compliance activities.
- Investor Support: Respond to investor information requests and assist with reporting, capital activity, and other investor-related inquiries.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance, legal, banking partners, and external service providers while contributing to process improvements and special projects.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 1–3 years of accounting experience in public accounting, fund administration, private equity, or another financial services environment is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Exposure to private equity, alternative investments, partnership accounting, or investment operations is preferred.
- Technical
Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required. Experience with Investran or similar fund accounting software is preferred. - Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a collaborative mindset are required.
