A leading Boston-based alternative investment manager is seeking a Senior Derivatives Operations Specialist to join its Investment Operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced derivatives operations professional to take on a hands‑on role supporting the daily operational needs of a sophisticated investment platform.

The ideal candidate will have strong, hands‑on derivatives operations experience and a solid understanding of the post-trade lifecycle, reconciliations, settlements, margin, and resolving operational breaks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and review daily reconciliations across derivative securities
  • Process and reconcile principal and interest payments
  • Investigate and resolve derivative‑related breaks and discrepancies with counter parties, custodians, administrators, and internal teams
  • Prepare, analyze, and project daily derivative margin calls
  • Support post‑trade settlement and ongoing lifecycle activity for derivative instruments
  • Partner closely with internal investment, accounting, and operations teams as well as external counter parties
  • Develop a strong understanding of trading strategies, operational processes, and investment-related cash flows
  • Assist with monthly shareholder statement reviews
  • Support additional operational, recordkeeping, reconciliation, and data‑processing projects as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • 3–5+ years of direct derivatives operations experience
  • Strong experience with derivative reconciliations, settlements, margin, and resolving breaks
  • Understanding of the post‑trade derivative lifecycle
  • Experience with in an asset manager, hedge fund, investment manager, fund administrator, custodian, or similar financial services environment
  • Working knowledge of investment accounting controls
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Important:

This is a specialized derivatives operations position. Candidates should have substantial derivatives experience clearly reflected on their resume; general fund accounting or back‑office operations experience without meaningful derivatives exposure will not be considered.
