As a Corporate Tax Intern on the Finance team, you will join an 11-week Summer Internship Program designed to give you hands‑on experience, expand your professional network, and build core industry skills. This full-time opportunity (40 hours per week) runs from June through August 2027. Car Gurus operates on a hybrid working model, and candidates should expect to work out of our Boston, MA office 60% of the time (approximately three days per week).
This is a great role for a student who is considering entering the workforce in the tax area and/or may be interested in getting a Masters in Taxation, pursuing a law degree or sitting for the CPA exam in the future.
Assist the tax team with the tax reporting provision process, including workpaper roll-forwards, SOX control assistance, tax memo update and other supports as needed.
See first-hand the inner workings of a tax provision software system (Corptax) and be able to work in the system in all its capabilities.
Support ad hoc projects as identified, such as transfer pricing projects, R&D tax credit study, sales & uses tax matter research and other projects as they arise.
Provide support with federal, state and international direct and indirect tax compliance. This includes tax adjustment computations, state apportionment analysis and return review.
Bring together standard methodologies and lessons learned to cultivate continuous improvements in process, tools, AI, communication, and training.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or a related field, with eligibility to complete a full-time internship.
Highly organized, meticulous, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage their own schedule, and work independently.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially with Excel.
The displayed range represents the expected hourly rate for this position.
