Vice President - Principal, Business Services

A leading U.S. private equity firm is seeking an Investment Professional to join its financial services investment team in Boston, with a focus on Business Services. The firm invests in middle-market growth companies within a focused set of sectors and brings deep sector expertise and hands-on operating support to build companies of lasting value in partnership with management.

In this role, the Investment Professional will be responsible for sourcing, underwriting, executing, and monitoring investments, with a mandate to develop Business Services investments within the broader fund. The position works closely with senior members of the investment team, operating executives, and portfolio company management across the full investment lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to management teams, deal sources, and co-investors.

• Developing thesis-driven investment ideas based on sector characteristics and trends.
• Originating new investments by managing intermediaries and building lasting relationships with management teams.
• Playing a central role in strategic and financial due diligence on new opportunities.
• Supporting senior leadership and overseeing deal teams through structuring, capital structure evaluation, bank financing, management compensation, closing, and exit.
• Partnering with operating executives and senior advisors to support portfolio companies on financing, M&A, capital structure, and growth or operational initiatives.
• Monitoring the financial and operational performance of portfolio investments.
• Leading and mentoring junior team members.

The firm is seeking someone with 7+ years of investing, or relevant M&A and operations, experience at a business services or tech-enabled services investment or private equity firm, following foundational training at a top-tier investment bank, project finance group, or management consulting firm. A strong, attributable track record in originating, executing, and monitoring business services or tech-enabled services investments is essential, along with experience driving post-investment value creation and an established network of bankers, operating executives, and financing sources.
