Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Tax Manager, Investment Funds (Boston, MA)

Our client, an established investment manager investing across public and private markets, is hiring a Tax Manager to own tax for its investment funds and management company. This is a lean, senior team, so the role works directly with finance, legal, and investment professionals rather than several layers removed. It's a strong move for a public accounting tax professional ready to step in-house and take real ownership of a fund complex.

What

You'll Do
  • Coordinate and review federal, state, and local tax filings for the funds, related entities, and the management company
  • Review partnership tax work papers, book-to-tax adjustments, allocations, and investor K-1s
  • Manage deliverables from external tax advisors and fund administrators, resolve issues, and keep deadlines on track
  • Support tax estimates, investor reporting, and investor tax inquiries
  • Advise finance, legal, and investment teams on the tax implications of new investments, transactions, and fund structures
  • Research tax issues across public and private investments and improve tax processes as the firm grows
What We're Looking For
  • 4–6 years of tax experience in public accounting
  • Substantive partnership tax experience serving investment fund clients (hedge fund, private equity, venture, or real estate funds)
  • Hands-on experience reviewing complex partnership work papers, allocations, and K-1s
  • Ability to manage outside providers and explain tax matters clearly to non-tax stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
Preferred
  • Direct hedge fund tax experience
  • CPA
  • Master's in Taxation
  • Exposure to private investments or funds investing across public and private markets
The Environment

A small, collaborative investment firm in Boston, MA, with a culture built on humility, integrity, and continuous improvement. The benefits package includes fully paid medical, dental, and vision, 401(k) matching, fully paid parental leave, and generous vacation.
